Dimash's story
Dimash Qudaibergen is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Kazakhstan. The thing that makes him stands out from the rest of the singers in the world is that he has an unusually wide vocal range. His range is more than six octaves, which is un-human. His whistle register can reportedly hit notes in the eighth octave, which is higher than the highest note on the piano. Another thing that makes him appeal to so many people is that he has performed songs in over 13 languages.
Dimash isn't the only one in his family who is musically inclined. Dimash's younger brother, Abilmansur, is also a songwriter, guitarist, pianist, and drummer. Dimash's mother is a soprano singer, and his father previously led the regional cultural development borard of Aktobe. Dimash's first appearance on stage was at the young age of two in a minor role in a local theatre production. His parents and music teacher noticed at a very young age that Dimash has absolute pitch, meaning he knows what note is being played without reference. His musical talents grew extreemly fast, and at the age of six, he won the national piano contest in Aynalayin.
Age 16-20: Early on in Dimash's career, he wasn't known by many people, as he was a very young kid. From 2010 to 2013, he participated in and won four major singing competitions in Kazakstan, Ukraine, and Kyrgyzstan. He first gained nation-wide attention in Kazakhstan when he won the prestigious National Zhas Kanat Contest. He became the first person in history to get a perfect score from the judges. This is quite an accomplishment considering that he was only 18 years old at this time. Dimash graduated from the Music department of Aktobe's Zhubanov University in 2014 when he was 20 years old.
Age 21: After Dimash graduated, he performed throughout many european and asian countries. In 2015, he was invited to participate in the Slavic Bazaar after one of the event organizers seen him perform. This is an international contest for prominent singers. After his performances at the three day competition, he recieved a score of 175 points out of 180. He was the clear favorite of both the jury and the audience. The jury stated that he had three different voices: a low one, a medium one, and a high one and that he used all three of them professionally. After his impressive performance, his fame began to move outside of just his home country. He appeared on many national TV shows and public events. He also performed at a large concert in China with inportant audience members such as Xi Jinping (president of China). He got to the point where he was constantly getting invited to different places around the world to perform.
Age 22: Age 23(2017) was a very important time in Dimash's career. The reason for this is because he was invited to an extreemly prestigious singing show in China. The show is called: "I Am a Singer", and is mainly meant for professional top-selling Chineese singers. Dimash was brought on in the fifth season as a 'wildcard' competitor, and was just meant to add some variety to the show. Dimash didn't even speak good Chineese, so it was dificult for him to talk with his competitors. After his first performance, the audience and other competators were absolutely stunned by his voice. He became an overnight sensation. The next morning after his first performance on the show, he was notified by the production crew that he would now need security guards. He didn't know how famous he got. Ever since this show, he couldn't go anywhere without recieving attention from crowds. Despite his outstanding performances, he still only got second place, because he was just a wildcard and was not Chinese. He also got to meet his childhood idol, Jackie Chan, during the production of this show. Immediately after the show, he held a three hour long concert with a live orchestra and gues singers. The massive venue was sold out with over 30,000 people. One fun fact is that he sang the theme song for the Chinese version of the Power Rangers movie at this age. Pretty good for a 22 year old kid.
Age 23-29: After Dimash's kickstart in his career from Chinese singer show, he continued success. People thought his voice was already perfect, but he managed to improve it even more over time. In 2019, he participted in 'The World's Best' competition in the United States, and was the favorite, but dropped out at the last round, because he wanted to allow his compettators(which were two kids) to move on. Also in 2019, he had a concert in New York at the Barclays Center. It was sold out extreemly quickly with over 19,000 spectators from 63 countries. In 2020, he sang for two movie soundtracks. He also went on a Tour across the world, performing in many different countries. In 2021, during the height of coronavirus, he performed a digital show. He would continue in-person concerts in 2022 in Dubai. Something amazing about Dimash is that he always chooses massive arenas for his concerts, and still manages to sell out of tickets wherever he goes. As of now, he is continuing his success singing at concerts around the world.
Dimash Qudiabergen is an incredable musical artist, and the reaction that people have when they first hear his voce goes like this: 'Is this even real?', 'How have I not heard of him before?', and 'How can he do that with his voice?'
